Reunion is generally safe. There are few security risks on the island. Petty crime does take place in Saint-Denis and other urban areas, but violent crime is rare.
Demonstrations do occur and, although most conclude peacefully, there have been incidents of violence during such gatherings in the past.
Currently, the risks of kidnappings, conflict and terrorism in Reunion are limited.
Medical facilities are of a good standard across the island.
